This specification establishes standards for the design, construction and performance of a Type III ambulance. The completed vehicle and components must comply with the current version of Federal Specification KKK-A-1822 unless specifically requested otherwise in the following document. As the criteria for compliance with KKK-A-1822 are well established, this document will not contain redundant references to their content.
