The City of Rochester Hills is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to Remove and Install a Gate Valve and Well at 1600 W. Hamlin. Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Rochester Hills at the Fiscal/Purchasing Office, 1000 Rochester Hills Drive, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309 or through MITN website until EXACTLY 3:00:00 P.M. Local Time, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2016, at which time and place the names of proposers will be read. A Voluntary Site Visit will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 @ 10:00 a.m. at 1600 W. Hamlin Road (See Attachment A), Rochester Hills, MI 48307 to become familiar with the premises specified, to measure all areas to be covered, view the current condition of the site and to provide a forum for questions/answers. It is strongly encouraged that the Contractor attend the site visit. Contractor is responsible for all measurements when preparing his/her quotation. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine quantities of any special materials required and incorporate any such items in his/her cost. The City of Rochester Hills officially distributes bid documents from the Purchasing Division or through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN). Copies of bid documents obtained from any other source are not considered official copies. Only those vendors who obtain bid documents from either the Purchasing Division or the MITN System are guaranteed access to receive addendum information, if such information is issued. The first step to do business with the City is to become a registered vendor by visiting the City website at, select City Services, Purchasing and Vendor Registration to link to the MITN website. Final proposal results will be posted on the MITN website after award. HAMLIN” or through the MITN website.   BACKGROUND INFORMATION The City of Rochester Hills is a residential community in Oakland County, Michigan, and covers approximately 32 square miles of suburban community. Rochester Hills is located 30 miles north of Detroit. The City’s population is roughly 70,000. General information regarding the City of Rochester Hills is available at The gate valve to be removed and replaced is located at 1600 W. Hamlin. See attached location map (attachment A). SCOPE OF WORK The City currently has an existing gate valve that cannot be repaired and removal is required. It is the City’s objective to effectively and efficiently remove the existing gate valve, install a new valve and well structure outside of the Hamlin Road influence for a complete water main connection at 1600 W. Hamlin Road. The City of Rochester Hills is accepting proposals from qualified contractors for the furnishing of all required materials, equipment, labor services and any other related services or equipment needed for the successful removal of a gate valve and installation of a new gate valve and well for a complete water main connection at 1600 W. Hamlin Road. All work shall be performed in a professional, cost efficient and timely manner. The awarded contractor shall be responsible for the entire project including, but not limited to, coordination of all work and the outcome of the project.
